Mpoomy Ledwaba announces her new book
Mpoomy Ledwaba is set to debut as an author with a book titled, How Did We Get Here.
Taking to Instagram, the South African star shared the cover of the book, and revealed that it will be available for sale in October.
Mpoomy briefly reminisced on the journey of the book and disclosed to fans things they should expect when reading the book.
“Almost four years ago, that’s when I wrote the first lines of this book…. I want to say it wasn’t time, but to be honest I feared I had nothing to say….the truth is the idea of being a writer, contributing to libraries, and dare I say an author has been a dream I wouldn’t dare utter from the moment I started working at the library at Middelburg Primary school,” she wrote.
“It was too far-fetched, but I couldn’t deny my connection to words, pages and stories. Girls like me didn’t write books in 2006, or at least I didn’t know any. So in 2023, as I closed of my 20’s I decided to get naked and let the whole world see me, well, that version of me.”
“I don’t promise a fairytale, but I promise truth, cringe, laughter, relatability and sometimes far fetched….. and I will say, I am scared. Like your first day of school kind of scared… new environment, new uniform, new friends and having to introduce yourself and hope for the best…..it’s been a journey and a half, God is holding my hand like the loving Father He is,” Ledwaba added.
