Bulelwa “Zahara’ Mkutukana has been nominated at the South African Afro Music Awards.
The late singer who passed away in December 2023 bagged two nominations.
The Loliwe has been nominated for Best Female Afro Soul Artist of Democracy and her 2011 debut album, Loliwe, is nominated for Best Afro Album of Democracy at the South African Afro Music Awards, which will take place on 26 October at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni.
Zonke Dikana, Siphokazi, Judith Sephuma, Moneoa and Thandiswa Mazwai are nominated in the same category as the late singer.
The family of the late Zahara is excited about the nominations, as it proves that her hard work is being recognised.
“My sister’s work will live on forever. She deserves to be celebrated,’ Zahara’s sister said.
