Tyla wins Billboard’s award
South African star, Tyla accepts the Global Impact award at Billboard’s R&B No.1s 2024 party.
The singer’s hit song, Water gained her multiple recognitions and bagged her the top of Billboard’s chart.
The single earned her first Hot 100 Top 10 hit, spending eight weeks at No. 1 on mainstream R&B Hip Hop Airplay, spending 46 weeks and counting, at No. 1 on our US Afrobeats Songs chart, and winning the inaugural Best African Music Performance Grammy award earlier this year.
Tyla excitedly accepted the award and appreciated everyone who has supported her.
“I remember when everyone used to feel like this was so unattainable, especially from where I’m from,” the singer said during her speech.
