Mas Musiq has finally released his highly anticipated Amapiano project, Lane Yam, featuring top music stars like DJ Maphorisa, Daliwonga, Kabza De Small, and others.
In the days leading up to the album’s release, Mas Musiq trended on social media due to the controversy surrounding his single Amalanga, which is part of the new album. The song sparked a huge debate after fans noticed that Samthing Soweto was not credited, leading to an outcry.
DJ Maphorisa, who is also featured on the track, faced backlash and was accused of exploitation for the omission. However, with the release of the album, fans realized that Samthing Soweto’s vocals had been replaced by rising star Chley’s.
The revamped version of Amalanga has ignited even more discussion on social media, with fans reacting to the changes.
“Mas Musiq and Dj Maphorisa removed Samthing Soweto’s vocals from Amalanga song. Wake up Mzansi they replaced hun with TO Starquality and Chley. Ow shame , Dj Maphorisa is evil. The song doesn’t even sound the same anymore, all because of greed,” a Twitter user wrote.
