No bad blood between Tyla and Halle Bailey
South African star Tyla isn’t shying away from addressing criticism as she continues to trend on social media for several reasons following her first MTV VMAs win.
Tyla confidently took to the stage to accept her award, accompanied by American singer Halle Bailey. In a light-hearted moment, Tyla asked for help from Lil Nas X and Halle, joking that the award was too heavy to carry.
However, some viewers perceived the moment as awkward and tried to blow it out of proportion.
In response, the Grammy-winning artist took to Twitter to shut down the noise, urging people to focus on her achievement. “Y’all make everything weird… I was not asking my girl Halle… We just girls, STFU I WON A VMAAAA,” she tweeted.
Halle chimed in, affirming Tyla’s message and congratulating her on the win.
