Clear skin can be only maintained with deep cleaning of the face.
Healthy cleansing routine allows you to remove dirt, excess oil, dead skin cells, and impurities from your skin, thereby giving it a fresh look.

Here are effective steps on how you may deep clean your face with simple techniques and products easily found at home.

Importance of deep cleansing of face

Deep cleanse pores: Its purpose is to remove clogs that bring forth blackheads, whiteheads, and acne. It removes impurities that prevent breakout and grants you smooth, bright, and healthy-looking skin.
Exfoliate dead skin: There’s a stimulation of cell turnover when exfoliating, giving you smoother, brighter skin.
It hinders product absorption: Cleaner skin allows better absorption for serums, moisturizers, and treatments applied on it giving maximum effectivity.Improves the texture of skin: Cleaning can impart smoothness on fine-lined uneven-textured, and very aged skin.

Step 1: Prepare your stuff
Have the following pieces before you start:
Cleanser. You can opt for a gel, foam, or cream type that would work for your skin type.
Exfoliator. This can be either chemical or physical.
Steam, which can be facial, or simply use a bowl of hot water if you do not have an actual facial steamer
Face mask. One that would deep cleanse your skin is required. You can use a clay mask, charcoal, or hydrating one.
Toner. Optional
Moisturizer
Clean towels
Step 2: Remove makeup

If you apply makeup, remove it before washing. Dampen a cotton pad with makeup remover or micellar water and gently clean your face, avoiding the eyes and lips. Then clean your face with your cleanser to remove all residue completely.

Step 3: Cleanse your face

Choose a gentle cleanser appropriate to your skin type. For oily skin, a gel or foam cleanser would be perfect; while for dry or sensitive skin, a rich, hydrating cleanser would suit best.
Cleanse your face: Use lukewarm water to get your face wet. So your pores open up.
Apply cleanser: Rub cleanser into the skin using circular motions for around 1 minute. Don’t forget your neck!
Rinse: Rub your face with lukewarm water thoroughly and dry using a clean towel.
Step 4: Exfoliate
Exfoliation removes the dead skin cells and the appearance of new skin. You can either use a physical exfoliator (scrubs) or a chemical exfoliator (AHAs or BHAs) to exfoliate.
Physical exfoliation: Apply a small amount of scrub to wet skin. Massage gently with circular motions for about 1-2 minutes. Do not rub the eyes.
Chemical exfoliation: Apply chemical exfoliant using the product instructions on the cotton pad, and let it stay for as long as you have been instructed.
Step 5: Steam your face
Steaming your face brings open pores and clears out impurities. To steam, follow these steps:
Boil water: Let the water boil and pour into a bowl.
Tent makeover: Drape a towel over your head and bend over the bowl, keeping your face around 6-12 inches above it.
Steam for about 5-10 minutes.

Pat dry: After steaming, pat your face dry.

Step 6: Put on a face mask

You can use a face mask to target specific skin concerns. Clay masks are especially good for oily skin, while hydrating masks work wonders for very dry skin.
Apply mask: Put on the mask carefully, avoiding the eye area. For the duration on the packaging
Rinse off: When the time is over, rinse off the mask with lukewarm water, then pat dry your face
Step 7: Toning your face
Toners maintain the pH balance for your skin and remove excess dirt impurities. To apply toner, soak a cotton pad or directly press with your fingers to the face.
Step 8: Moisturize
This is the most important step in hydrating your skin after deep cleansing. Use a product that best fits your skin type, and then apply it to your face and neck while pressing it all over to lock the moisture.

To deep cleanse, do it 1-2 times a week; again, this depends on the skin type and the problems it has. The skin should not be overcleaned as well because that’s when the irritation will arise.
