Gospel singer Solly Moholo dies in the hospital
Gospel musician Solomon Molokoane, popularly known as Solly Moholo, dies at the age of 65.
The legend passed away in the hospital months after battling illness.
Solly’s team announced his passing on his Facebook account.
“Dear Solly Moholo Fans. It is with great sadness that we are informing you on behalf of the Molokoane family, that is Solly Moholo’s family, that our beloved legend “Solly Moholo” has sadly passed on,” the statement reads.
“Solly Moholo was hospitalised after falling ill following his pre-album launch tour in Botswana. He will be sorely missed. May his laughter continue to echo the walls of heaven. Let us remember him fondly for the healing music he gave us over the years,” the statement further reads.
The family also pleaded “for privacy and time to mourn the passing of Ntate Solly Moholo and prepare for his burial”. Details of his memorial and funeral will be shared in the coming days on all Solly Moholo official pages.
