South African rapper Emtee is venting his frustration over the delay of his highly anticipated album, which he says has been ready since September 2023.
The rap star has previously raised fans’ hopes for the release of his highly anticipated DIY 3 album, but his recent updates suggest that the project may not drop anytime soon
In a series of candid tweets, the “Roll Up” hitmaker opened up about his growing disappointment with those responsible for releasing his music, calling out the constant excuses and lack of communication.
“For the first time in a long time, I’m frustrated bruh. I finished recording my album in September 2023 and till this day I’m waiting, and the crazy part is, there’s always an excuse why it can’t drop. Bet they gonna start blowing up my phone and start playing reverse psychology on me,” Emtee tweeted, highlighting the mind games he feels are being played.
The rapper’s frustration only deepened with no clear answer on when his project would finally be available to his fans.
“Every day I ask one question: ‘When is my album dropping?’ No answer. Just some bullshit excuse from people I thought were genuine,” he expressed, showing disappointment in those he trusted with his career.
Emtee didn’t hold back as he voiced his pain, stating that the lack of transparency has left him hurt by those he once believed in.
“Instead of playing with me, just be real. I where hurt by words,” he added in a follow-up tweet.
The rapper’s final words hinted at a breaking point.
“If you don’t fvck with me just say it so I can take my talents elsewhere,” he concluded, signaling that he might be ready to part ways with his current team if the situation doesn’t improve soon.
Meanwhile, months ago, Emtee signed a deal with Empire – an international record label that distributes songs belonging to African stars like Asake and Fireboy.
