Actor Nqobani Zuke is married

Nqobani Zuke, best known for his role as Simba in the internationally renowned The Lion King production in Hong Kong, is officially off the market.

The 29-year-old actor from Groutville, KZN, married his long-time partner, Nokwethemba Cele, from Umlazi, in a beautiful ceremony on Saturday, 9 November.

Their love story took a big step forward as Nqobani flew in from Hong Kong to exchange vows with Nokwethemba before returning to his duties abroad as a married man.

Nqobani, who has been performing as the lead character in the iconic musical since May, shared with Daily Sun that he had returned to South Africa on 1 November specifically for the wedding.

He plans to fly back to Hong Kong with his new wife, Nokwethemba, on 12 November.

Reflecting on his relationship, Nqobani revealed, “We’ve been together for about a year and a half, and I knew she was the one. I need her by my side, so I made the decision to marry her and make our commitment official.”

He also expressed gratitude and hope for their future together, saying, “Since I’ll be continuing my work in Hong Kong, I wanted her to be with me as my wife. I pray that God blesses our marriage.”

Nqobani had left South Africa on 20 May, joining The Lion King cast in Hong Kong after signing a six-month contract with Disney World. Now, he heads back to China with his wife, marking a new chapter in both his personal and professional life.
