Shahan Ramkissoon says announcing Kelly Khumalo’s death was an honest mistake
Shahan Ramkissoon penned a note of apology after being dragged by Kelly Khumalo over an error made while breaking the news of Winnie Khumalo’s death.
The eNCA’s news anchor mistook Winnie for Kelly, hence he announced that that Kelly was dead.
Taking to Instagram, the mother-of-three slammed the news reader and the channel.
“encanews you may hate me or even think very less of me, however this is very reckless, ignorant and disrespectful not only to me but to those who love and care about me especially my kids. PUT SOME RESPECT ON MY NAME,” she wrote.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Shahan apologises, saying it was an honest mistake.
“I made an honest mistake, which I corrected shortly afterwards on air. It was a slip of the tongue as I ad-libbed the story. I take full responsibility for the error. To those seeking to amplify this for attention: do what you must trend and stay blessed,” he wrote.
