Pearl Thusi fails to help young boys get back to school
Pearl Thusi has come under fire on social media after a man she pledged to help revealed that the actress did not follow through on her promise.
In September 2024, the man took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a heartfelt post about his financial struggles, posting a photo of his two sons. He revealed his inability to afford their school fees.
“My final attempt at getting my sons back to school failed earlier today, so I sat them down and let them know of the reality—that things aren’t going well for mom. I don’t know when they’ll be going back. But this won’t be forever,” he wrote.
Moved by the post, Pearl Thusi expressed concern and even tagged her close friend DJ Zinhle, suggesting they work together to assist the family.
“Send the school name, account details… so we can verify. I’ll make a contribution. @DJZinhle let’s split it, babe?” Pearl wrote at the time.
However, months later, the man revealed that he never heard back from Pearl. He also confirmed that he is still grappling with the same challenges.
“I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. I’m actually still in the same boat. None of the people who offered to help here did. You may be lucky, though, but I’d advise you to go to your local Dept of Ed office for help with placement,” he wrote in response to another struggling parent.
When asked for further clarification, he shared more details: “The last time Pearl responded to my DM was on September 19 with, ‘Didn’t the money come in?’ After that, others didn’t respond at all. I spoke alone in people’s DMs for weeks!”
Sympathetic social media users rallied around the man and helped raise funds to cover his children’s tuition fees.

Meanwhile, Pearl Thusi faced widespread criticism on X for her failure to honor her promise.
