Cinnamon is one of the most common spices that is found in kitchens.
It is mainly used to enhance the flavour, aroma, and taste in many dishes.
However, originally this spice was only used for health benefits in the ancient days, and soon rolled out its beauty benefits too, that are used extensively by the beauty industry.
Historically,
cinnamon has been used in royal families too and is found in the inner bark of the genus tree.
Earning a glorious reputation in the space of skincare, let’s see how you can add this Indian spice to your
beauty regime.
1. Honey and cinnamon
If you’re dealing with intense acne issues then simply mix two teaspoons of honey with some cinnamon powder and apply this paste on your face overnight. Wash it off in the morning and enjoy the compliments. Cinnamon has anti-fungal, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties and is a perfect solution for acne-free skin, as it dries out the skin and improves the blood flow as well.
2. Cinnamon with oil
This combination of
cinnamon with any natural oil will remove the dead skin cells and will give you a supple and smooth skin. Therefore, if you are dealing with dry skin issues, then simply make a scrub including almond, coconut, or olive oil, and add a few drops of honey and one tablespoon of
cinnamon and see the magic.
3. Cinnamon with essential oils
Cinnamon improves the blood flow to the skin, and this combination will result in moist and hydrated skin. Simply take a tablespoon of
cinnamon powder and mix it with rosemary or lavender essential oil, and add a scoop of petroleum jelly if you’re dealing with chapped skin, and wish to increase the moisture level.
4. Cinnamon and yogurt mask
As mentioned above,
cinnamon powder has antifungal and antibacterial properties that help in improving one’s skin complexion. Apply this mixture and add some banana and drops of lemon juice as well. Leave the paste for 15 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. You will see the changes in mere weeks.
People dealing with Eczema which is a skin condition and results in inflammation and coloured patches, can get relief from
cinnamon and honey face packs. Simply mix a tablespoon of
cinnamon with honey and apply on the affected area. The results will be visible within a week. However, try a patch test first, and check if it suits your skin or not.
