Nota Baloyi breaks his silence after rape charges were dropped

Music producer Nota Baloyi has responded after rape charges against him were withdrawn.

Actress Itumeleng Bokaba, who initially filed the case, decided to step away from legal proceedings, citing a significant career opportunity that requires her full focus.

She made it clear that her decision does not invalidate her experience but allows her to move forward professionally.

Following the withdrawal, Nota addressed the situation, expressing both relief and frustration.

He emphasized that reputations take years to build but can be quickly damaged by accusations, regardless of the outcome.

“My family has been both emotionally and financially supportive throughout. The most concerning thing for me is that the complainant still thinks that this is a joke. She does not care about the hurt and pain she has caused me and my family. And also how her handling of the matter triggers real victims,” he said.

Nota also reflected on how public accusations affect those wrongly accused, stressing that the damage extends beyond just legal consequences.

While the case has been closed, his response suggests that the effects of such allegations linger, fueling ongoing conversations about accountability, reputational harm, and justice.
