Somizi faces backlash for not allegedly supporting his 30-year-old daughter

Somizi Mhlongo is under fire after claims surfaced that he has not been financially supporting his daughter, Bahumi.

The 30-year-old motivational speaker, born to Somizi and Palesa Madisakwane, is reportedly struggling, with her mother speaking out about the situation.

In a recent revelation, Palesa shared details about Bahumi’s birth, alleging that Somizi distanced himself at the time and even denied his child. She further claimed that despite Bahumi’s challenges, the media personality has continued to withhold financial support.

“Even today, Somizi is still not supporting Bahumi. I’m responsible for her wellbeing. She is 30-years-old but she’s not financially stable. And she’s still living under my roof, I’m the one taking care of her.

“Sometimes she goes to these parties with Somizi but she comes back with nothing. The following day I have to give her money for transport. She’s hustling just like everyone else. From time to time she gets gigs but she is still under my care,” she said.

Palesa said Somizi is yet to apologise for all he did to her and their daughter.

“When I went to the hospital, he wasn’t there; I didn’t even have clothes for the baby. He’s never apologised, and he’s never explained his actions. My daughter has just turned 30, and I’ve never received an apology,” she said.

Madisakwane further explained why she opened up about her experiences with her baby daddy.

“Back then I couldn’t speak because I was protecting my children and my marriage. But now I have a voice. I’m opening up because I know there are women who are going through the same thing. [Women] who’ve been rejected and rejected by their partners. I want my story to motivate them,” she said.
