Two ‘Skeem Saam’ cast members injured
A fire broke out on the set of Skeem Saam, leaving the cast and crew shaken and causing injuries to two staff members.
The incident, which took place at Sasani Studios in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon, saw actors and crew scrambling to safety as flames spread through the production space.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but the SABC has confirmed that two crew members sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care.
The broadcaster’s head of communications, Mmoni Ngubane, stated that the extent of the damage to production equipment is still being assessed.
While the fire is believed to have caused losses amounting to thousands of rands, further evaluation is needed to determine the full impact.
The SABC extended well wishes to the injured crew members as investigations continue into the cause of the blaze.
