Mac G says Cassper Nyovest is a washed rapper
Podcast and Chill host Mac G has stirred controversy by suggesting that Cassper Nyovest should step away from music, claiming the rapper is past his prime.
On the latest episode of his podcast, Mac G didn’t hold back. “Cassper is washed. It’s chai. I kid you not. People will think I’m hating, but nah,” he stated.
He went on to reference a common saying in football: “You must leave football before football leaves you. Cassper needs to leave the mic before the mic leaves him.”
Mac G further claimed that at a recent event, Nyovest had the crowd hyped while performing his old hits, but once he switched to his new track Kusho Bani, people started leaving.
Co-host Sol Phenduka echoed the sentiment, arguing that South Africans appreciate quality music, not “some TikTok dance challenge.”

This isn’t the first time Mac G has thrown shots at Cassper.
The two had a long-running feud, which was seemingly resolved in 2023 when Mac G apologized. “I apologised to Cassper, and he bought me some alcohol,” he recalled.
