Gogo Maweni’s assault case postponed
Gogo Maweni, the well-known traditional healer and media personality, made a striking entrance at the Protea Magistrates Court, accompanied by cameras capturing every moment.
The reality TV star, whose real name is Makgotso Mofokeng, is facing charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) from an incident that dates back to 2019.
Arriving at court with a full camera crew from her reality show Thokoza Gogo on Moja Love, Maweni was also supported by her husband, Sabelo Mgube, along with close friends and family members.
Despite the serious nature of the case, the presence of the cameras added a dramatic element to the proceedings.
Currently out on R5,000 bail, Maweni appeared before the magistrate as scheduled. However, after brief formalities, she was informed that her case had been postponed to May 15 this year.
Once the court session concluded, the spectacle surrounding her presence faded, at least for now.
Beyond the 2019 assault case, the traditional healer also has another unresolved matter from 2017, as confirmed by the Gauteng Province Cold Case Investigation Unit.
With her legal battles still unfolding, all eyes remain on what happens next in her ongoing court saga.
