Actor Wiseman Mncube has issued a public apology following backlash over his comments about Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 contestant Ashley Ogle.

His remarks, which referred to Ashley as “icoloured,” sparked outrage online, with many accusing him of making racially insensitive statements.

In his initial post, Wiseman wrote, “Kanti icoloured la Guluva lihlala eWentworth hehehe imashile. Muvoteleni abaleke ngezinyawo zombili cause that stakkie’s from the Gaali!”

The statement led to widespread criticism, with social media users calling him out for reinforcing stereotypes.

Realizing the impact of his words, the My Brother’s Keeper star took to social media to express remorse. “Kuthiwa eyonile uma ilibona iphutha iyaxolisa,” he shared, acknowledging his mistake.

He followed up with a more detailed apology, saying, “Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologise to Ashley, her fans, and anyone else I may have hurt with my words. What I meant as a joke was thoughtless and, in hindsight, inappropriate.

“I take full responsibility for my actions and the harm they may have caused. I now realise the weight of my words and the impact they can have, and I am committed to being more mindful in the future. I will take this as a learning moment and do better. I am truly sorry. Love, Wiseman Mncube.”

While some fans appreciated his accountability, others remained critical, emphasizing the importance of being mindful of language in public discourse.
