Mpumelelo Mseleku investigated for murder

Mpumelelo “Sbindi” Mseleku is being investigated for murder after an alleged intruder was shot and killed at the Mseleku family home in Umzumbe, KwaZulu-Natal.

Reports indicate that an armed man forced his way into the Mseleku residence while a staff member was on duty.

The intruder is said to have demanded to see one of Musa Mseleku’s sons, prompting the staffer to raise the alarm.

A confrontation reportedly followed, during which the unidentified man was shot four times, allegedly by Mpumelelo.

KwaZulu-Natal police have since confirmed that an initial case of attempted house robbery and an inquest were opened but have now been closed in favour of a full murder investigation.

“Southport police opened a case of attempted house robbery and an inquest which later closed, and a case of murder was registered for investigations,” said police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda, according to Daily Sun.

The Mseleku family is widely recognized from their reality TV shows Uthando Nes’thembu and Izingane Zes’thembu, which explore the complexities of polygamy and family life.

The shows have earned them a devoted following, with many viewers captivated by the family’s unique lifestyle and dramatic day-to-day experiences.
