Sir Trill drops new music
Sir Trill is stepping back into the limelight with renewed purpose and a clear vision for the future.
The amapiano vocalist, whose real name is Tumelo Zwane, is making waves again in 2025 with new music, a self-founded record label, and a fresh wave of collaborations that mark a bold new chapter in his career.
Speaking to Sunday World, the Banyana hitmaker revealed that his return was fuelled by the overwhelming support of his fans and a personal desire to keep creating.
“Because I was already working on music to release, and a lot of people were asking. So it was a break for me to make more music,” he explained.
Following a controversial period in 2023 that saw him open up about the darker side of the music industry, Sir Trill is now more focused than ever—not just creatively but also from a business perspective.
“It is very important to educate yourself about the music business. This growth will help me navigate the industry challenges more effectively,” he said, noting that he’s now “a bit more experienced” and armed with industry knowledge.
Sir Trill is sticking to his trusted process of working in his own space while remaining open to partnerships.
“Nothing changes using the same method and navigation, which is rather to keep to myself but be open to collaborating with other producers and artists,” he shared.
This new phase sees him taking full control with the launch of his independent label, Ghost Music Group, which debuted in March.
He sees the label as a platform to build organically through quality music and meaningful connections.
In 2023, Sir Trill publicly called out the industry’s failure to compensate him, which he said took a serious toll on his mental health.
“It’s tiring and mentally damaging. So many hits, and I’ve never seen a cent. I’m tired,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The “grootman” he referred to at the time—allegedly DJ Maphorisa—was accused of blocking his progress and discouraging other artists from working with him.
Despite those hurdles, Sir Trill is moving forward, with a stronger team and the support of his family helping him stay grounded through the tough times.
His comeback isn’t just about reclaiming space in the charts—it’s about owning his story and taking control of his future.
