Julius Malema slams Donald Trump over remarks to Cyril Ramaphosa

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has spoken out against what he described as disrespectful and inflammatory behaviour by former U.S. President Donald Trump towards South African President Cyril Ramaphosa during a recent meeting in the United States.

The meeting, which quickly trended across social media platforms, gained attention after Trump allegedly urged Ramaphosa to arrest Malema, citing viral videos of the South African politician.

Trump reportedly labelled Malema as “racist” and accused him of promoting violence against white South Africans, claims that sparked outrage among Malema’s supporters.

President Ramaphosa, however, is said to have assured Trump that no such actions or rhetoric are endorsed by the South African government, and that the country remains committed to unity and constitutional democracy.

In response, Malema expressed deep disappointment over the conversation and condemned both leaders for what he sees as political cowardice.

“You will never put a good man down. I will never be defined by my enemies, but by my loyalty to the cries of our people,” Malema wrote in a statement. “You will never kill an idea whose time has come. Kill me now, cowards.”
