Somizi and Sweet Guluva squash rumours
Somizi Mhlongo and Big Brother Mzansi breakout star Sweet Guluva have clearly put any past tension behind them, as shown in a recent video.
Earlier in the year, Somizi caused a stir when he appeared to throw shade at Guluva, not directly, but through a comment aimed at his fanbase.
At the time, Somizi expressed frustration, saying: “Some of us don’t watch Big Brother. We only know his name because you annoy us in the comment section.”
He even warned fans that their aggressive campaigning might backfire: “You’re messing up his chances to win. We can’t deal with you forcing us to vote for Sweet Guluva whenever we post. He’ll end up not winning because of you. We’ve had enough. Stop it.”
Fast-forward to now, and the energy between the two couldn’t be more different.
Somizi recently joined Sweet Guluva for a brand campaign with All Gold, and their time together left no doubt about mutual respect and good vibes.
The media personality paid a visit to Guluva’s former school as part of the campaign, and from the clips shared, it’s clear the two had a great time connecting with students and celebrating Guluva’s roots.
Sharing the experience online, Somizi wrote: “Yesterday was very special. My @allgoldsa family visited @sweet_guluva’s former school and we had such a blast. The kids are one of the most disciplined bunch I’ve ever seen. The teachers were so welcoming. Then I met Guluva’s family.”
He went on to say, “My goodness, he’s definitely in great hands. Oh, I now call him by his birth name, lol. Akhona woza la. Akhona this and that. lol. Went to his home for lunch but I had to rush to Durban to catch my flight. Everything about this campaign is exactly what @allgoldsa is all about.”
