SA singer Tyla bags a win at The American Music Awards 2025
South African music star Tyla scores another major win for the Afrobeats world.
The American Music Awards 2025 has announced the Water hitmaker as the winner of the Favourite Afrobeats Artist category.
This isn’t the first time Tyla has been recognised in the Afrobeats scene. Despite ongoing criticism about her wins in the genre, award bodies continue to acknowledge her impact across multiple styles, including R&B, Afropop, and Afrobeats.
The American Music Awards (AMAs) is an annual show that celebrates the biggest names in contemporary music. Established in 1974, the awards are determined by public voting and reflect commercial success through sales and airplay.
