Egg Yolk
1. Neurological damage
Due to various synthetic compounds involved, especially industrial resins and dyes, they can damage the central nervous system. Eating these eggs regularly can cause headaches, dizziness, and memory loss.
2. Digestive issues
Due to artificial compounds present in them, fake eggs cannot be digested properly. This can cause stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, and indigestion.
3. Toxic poisoning
Due to ingredients like formaldehyde, plasticizers, or petroleum-based compounds, these can mix into the blood and damage internal organs, such as causing liver toxicity, kidney failure, and toxin accumulation.
4. Hormonal disruption
Hormonal synthetic chemicals can block human hormones and act as endocrine disruptors. This could lead to irregular periods and fertility issues, and lower testosterone levels in men.
5. Nutritional deficiency
Because the entire egg is fake, it contains no real protein, vitamins, or minerals. Due to the lack of nutrition, it can cause malnutrition if consumed regularly instead of real food.
How to identify these eggs
Due to their similarity with real eggs, it sometimes becomes hard to distinguish between real and fake eggs. But don’t worry—FSSAI introduced few tests you can use to find out if the egg is fake or not:
- Shell texture and appearance
Fake egg shells are smooth and glossy, whereas real eggs are slightly rough. - Weight test
Fake eggs may feel lighter or sometimes heavier, depending on the material used while making them. - Shake test
Fake eggs make no sound, but you can hear a soft yolk moving in a real egg if you shake it properly. - Bounce test
You can randomly select eggs and drop them from a height of 1 or 2 feet. Fake eggs may bounce or not break at all, whereas real eggs will crack easily.
