Actress and rising star Nirvana Nokwe has proudly joined the class of 2025 after graduating from the Academy of Sound Engineering in Johannesburg.

Sharing the milestone on Instagram, the beaming performer posted a video of herself in her gown and sash, simply captioned, “Oh I’m so happy.”

But for Nirvana, the occasion was more than just academic, it was a full-circle moment.

In an emotional message, she paid tribute to her long-time mentor, Mr. Timothy Kraft, who has guided her from her early days in the studio.

“Mr. Timothy Kraft, your mentorship and commitment to education, empowerment, and prosperity of artists in the entertainment industry can’t go unnoticed,” she wrote.

“I was a baby when I first started working with you on music in your studios at the SABC. I’m graduating at your academy today. I’m so, so honoured. What a moment.”

The Academy of Sound Engineering, located at the SABC Radio Park, is known for producing top talent in sound, broadcast, and media.

For Nirvana, the journey began unexpectedly, she once shared in an interview that her mother encouraged her to accept a bursary there instead of taking a gap year.

That decision sparked a passion for directing and entertainment that’s now blossoming into a promising career.
