Themba Broly breaks silence after bloody fight leaves producer injured
Themba Broly Mabaso has hit back at swirling allegations that he uses cocaine, following recent reports linking him to a violent brawl that left producer Nicey Beatz injured.
Speaking out to clear his name, the reality TV star denied the drug use accusations, saying, “I am a rockstar, but I don’t smoke cocaine, it’s very expensive to buy.”
Themba found himself under fire after a chaotic physical altercation broke out at an apartment block, leaving music producer Nicey hurt after allegedly being attacked by a group of about 15 men.
According to Nicey, Themba had violently assaulted another man during an argument, which led to retaliation from the victim’s friends, with Nicey caught in the middle.
“He became almost like a demon-possessed,” Nicey claimed. “After the incident he left, and that guy’s friends came back for me.”
However, Themba has strongly refuted claims that he orchestrated or escalated the violence, saying he was only defending himself.
“There was a stupid squabble outside the apartment. His girlfriend wanted to leave with my phone. I was upset. Then I went up the lift with another guy,” he explained.
The misunderstanding, according to Themba, came from the use of the word “ntwana,” which he said is harmless slang in Alexandra for “my guy.” “He thought I was belittling him. But where I come from, that’s how we talk. It wasn’t disrespect,” he said.
“That’s when the fight broke out. Nicey wasn’t part of it. He just got caught up in the situation.”
Addressing the drug accusations directly, Themba said people have been quick to label him without facts.
“Nobody asked me if I smoked cocaine. If anyone did, I’d say no. I don’t smoke weed either. My eyes are always red, that’s just me,” he added.
The star said he regrets the fight, particularly because of how it’s affecting his children.
“My son has TikTok and YouTube. He sees these things. Imagine him watching someone call his father a beast. It’s a lie. I wasn’t proud of the fight. I was defending myself. People are just brutal out here.”
He also claimed he tried to make amends. “I offered to pay Nicey’s medical bills. He never got back to me. Then he went on a podcast, probably for views. That podcast can’t arrest me. If it was that serious, he should’ve gone to the police.”
Despite the backlash, Themba insists he’s not hiding from anyone.
“There are no cops looking for me. I’m just cautious, I don’t want to get hurt. Especially not my face. Sometimes, a face card is all you have.”
