Zee Nxumalo responds to backlash over Thembi Seete video
Rising Amapiano star Zee Nxumalo has finally broken her silence after being dragged on social media for allegedly disrespecting veteran entertainer Thembi Seete during a recent campaign shoot.
The backlash began when a behind-the-scenes video surfaced showing Zee seemingly ignoring or brushing off Thembi during what was supposed to be a collaborative moment.
The clip went viral, with many social media users accusing the young artist of having a bad attitude and failing to show proper respect to one of South Africa’s most revered entertainers.
Critics were quick to react, calling Zee’s behaviour “dismissive” and “cold.”
Amid the outrage, Zee took to Twitter to seemingly address the issue.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, she defended herself, claiming the moment was misunderstood.
She later followed it up with a selfie post on Twitter, captioned: “Trust me it’s way out of context.”

The tweet, however, did little to calm the storm.
Responses poured in, with many users expressing disappointment at what they saw as a lack of accountability.
“Humility will take you far, we ngane. But right now, your stinking attitude will be your downfall.”
“Shame nana, you’re still growing up. Don’t do that to the legends. You still have a long way to go.”
“Cici threw you under the bus shame, the video she posted… I’d be afraid of her if I were you.”
“Don’t try us and mizz our legend. Is this your way of apologising?”
While some fans believe Zee will come around and offer a more sincere explanation, others feel the damage has already been done, with one user declaring: “You will never mize Thembi Seete and get away with it. This is our ICON.”
As the conversation continues, many are left wondering whether Zee will issue a formal apology or choose to let the controversy fade over time.
