Da L.E.S motivates people as he recovers from stroke

Da L.E.S is letting fans in on his journey to recovery, and his message is one of survival, strength, and purpose.

The rapper opened up in a candid YouTube video about the day his life changed, July 26, his birthday, and how he woke up a month later in the hospital.

“People thought I was going to die, but I made it,” he said, adding that his experience has pushed him to speak out and offer encouragement to others.

“I think right now it’s to motivate people. I think people want to know what’s wrong with me. I want to help people because sht is real. Sht can happen to anybody,” he continued.

“One minute, you’re cool, you’re like me, and the next minute, you experience the worst.”

Despite the challenges, Da L.E.S says he’s not giving up, and he’s determined to keep moving forward.

“I feel like my life has changed, but it isn’t the end. This is bigger than me and I’ve got to do this.”

He described his recovery journey as one where surrendering control is necessary.

“I’m going with the flow. When sh*t like this happens, it is nothing you can control. I’m lucky to be alive. Real talk. I feel good. I’m happy I’m still here.”

By sharing his story, the artist hopes to inspire.

“The purpose of me filming is to let you all into my life in a real way. Just to inspire.”
