Makhadzi celebrates family and tradition during nostalgic village visit
Award-winning Limpopo-born star Makhadzi recently took to social media to share a heartfelt glimpse into her visit back home.
The energetic performer traded stages and spotlights for gravel roads and family bonding, embracing her roots with joy and deep appreciation.
In a series of wholesome photos from the village, Makhadzi opened up about how much the visit meant to her.
“Believe me when I say I enjoyed my stay at my village,” she wrote.
“Taking a walk to the small road that I used to use going to fetch water was the best.”
She also reflected on her childhood, revealing that her parents separated when she was just five years old.
During her visit, she made time to see both sides of her family, but it was her grandmother’s home that brought the most joy.
“My grama place was the best,” she continued.
“We ate, danced to skompo and gaza music like crazy.”
Makhadzi and her loved ones came together to honour her uncle’s son, who had recently completed a traditional boys’ initiation school ceremony.
