Kenny Kunene stands by Gayton McKenzie amid resurfaced old tweets

on

Patriotic Alliance deputy president Kenny Kunene has thrown his full support behind party leader Gayton McKenzie after decade-old tweets from 2011, containing alleged racist remarks, resurfaced online.

Speaking out on 9 August 2025, Kunene suggested the renewed attention on the posts was a deliberate attempt to distract from what he claims were “insensitive and rude insults” recently directed at the coloured community during a podcast.

He said McKenzie’s so-called “crime” was defending the community and acting against those responsible.

“I and all members of Patriotic Alliance know that our president is not a racist and we stand cement vas with Pres,” Kunene stated.

He further confirmed that the PA intends to continue with an Equality Court case and will approach other bodies to address the “racist insults” allegedly made in the podcast.
