Anele Zondo reveals hip dip correction surgery as late Dr Pertunia Mathibe linked to procedure

Anele Zondo has once again found herself at the centre of online chatter, but this time it’s not about her much-talked-about on-stage kiss.

The rapper’s new curves have become the subject of heated debate after she revealed undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) to fix her hip dips.

Fat was reportedly taken from her stomach and transferred to her hips, a decision she openly linked to insecurities she wanted to address.

Instead of admiration, many social media users accused her of botched results, with some pointing fingers at the late celebrity surgeon Dr Pertunia “Pert” Mathibe, who died on 31 July 2025.

Dr Pert, known for working on several high-profile South African celebrities, has been named in countless online threads, with critics suggesting she may have been responsible for Zondo’s procedure.

Speaking to Briefly News, freelance makeup artist Benedict Muzembe noted the increasing acceptance of cosmetic enhancements among public figures.

“Celebrities may undergo BBL procedures to enhance their curves, improve their body shape, or boost their confidence. Potential risks include infection, scarring, and asymmetry,” Muzembe explained.

Zondo, who shared her updated look on 10 August 2025, has yet to directly respond to the criticism.
