Kelvin Momo calls out artist over song theft

Amapiano hitmaker Kelvin Momo publicly accuses fellow artist Bongi Soul of stealing one of his tracks.

Momo rarely courts controversy, but this time, he’s taking a firm stand.

The producer aired his grievances on Instagram, posting a blunt message to the alleged offender.

“Stop stealing. Ubani manje wena.”

His words came after he claimed Bongi Soul lifted an entire track from one of his older mixes, keeping both the beat and vocals intact, and released it under the title Midnight on major streaming platforms without credit.

Supporters of Momo were quick to rally behind him, calling for greater respect for original creators and sparking conversations about intellectual property in the fast-paced world of Amapiano.

While the genre thrives on collaborations and remixes, fans argued that this instance went far beyond influence, amounting to outright duplication.

Momo, celebrated for crafting emotive, immersive soundscapes that can take months to perfect, said the alleged copy was unmistakably his work.

As of now, Bongi Soul has not addressed the claims, and Midnight remains online.
