Elsa Majimbo vows to remain child-free
Kenyan comedian Elsa Majimbo caused a stir on social media after boldly declaring that she has no plans of ever becoming a mother.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Majimbo wrote: “Child free till the day I die. I’m a mother to my freedom.”
Her post quickly went viral, attracting a wave of mixed reactions.
Some users found the debate around personal choices amusing, with one writing: “This topic will always have strangers fighting each other over life choices and it’s somehow a funny watch lol.”
Majimbo, however, stood her ground, dismissing critics who suggested her stance was misguided.
She replied: “Hey tryna convince me it’s a mistake. I’m not a fool. F** them kids.”*
Others weighed in with strong opinions about family and freedom.
One user commented: “I’m still looking for whoever that lied to young black women that raising a family means you have no freedom.”
Another took a harsher approach, writing: “I think people that say that are people who don’t have a womb or the ability to give birth. They are hiding under ‘I don’t want a child.’ Maybe they make messy about themselves trying to do abortion.”
