Sho Madjozi shows support to Palestine
Sho Madjozi has added her voice to global calls for justice in Palestine, using her platform to urge South Africans to take action.
The award-winning artist recently shared a post on Instagram encouraging her followers to join initiatives in support of Palestinians.
“Follow @psc_gauteng to find out about actions (marches, online petitions etc) that you can join to support Palestinians 💚🖤❤️ 🇿🇦,” she wrote.
While many fans applauded her for speaking out, not everyone agreed with her stance.
One critic, responding in Sepedi, commented: “Osatswa go belega setse o tsena taba tsa batho,” which loosely translates to “You haven’t even given birth yet, but you’re involving yourself in other people’s issues.”
Despite the backlash, Madjozi remains firm in her position.
Her show of solidarity comes at a time when more South African artists are aligning themselves with global struggles, particularly the Palestinian cause, which echoes South Africa’s own painful history with apartheid.
