Mac G and Robot Boii shine on ‘Shaka iLembe’
Podcaster Mac G and entertainer Robot Boi recently made unexpected appearances on a hit television show, and both stars took to social media to share their experiences on set.
Robot Boi, who delivered a powerful Zulu monologue during his scene, shared photos from the shoot and simply captioned them: “‘QWAAAAAABE’. Liyabonga iLobot Madoda.”
Mac G opened up about the experience on Podcast and Chill, revealing that his cameo marked his very first acting role. He admitted that the shoot was far more gruelling than he anticipated, as he and the cast had to endure long hours under the blazing sun while dressed in g-strings.
“We shot the whole day. The sun was crazy. We were standing in the sun the whole day,” he recalled.
“The energy was different. It’s a different atmosphere, you feel like you’re back in those days. I felt Zulu by the end of the day. When I got there, I had a fade. It took an hour for them to put [faux] hair on. That was a hard day of work.”
Despite the challenges, Mac G said the experience gave him a newfound respect for professional actors, praising the level of dedication required to bring stories to life.
