Nomzamo Mbatha celebrates women’s curves with Levi’s relaunch

Shaka Ilembe star Nomzamo Mbatha has once again secured her place as the face of Levi’s Curve, extending her partnership with the iconic denim brand.

The 35-year-old actress, model, and humanitarian has been working with Levi’s since 2019, driving conversations around body positivity and celebrating women of all shapes and sizes.

To mark the launch of the new Levi’s Curve 501 in South Africa, Mbatha hosted an intimate brunch with the brand, which later continued at the Levi’s store in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront.

Guests were given a first look at the fresh designs and invited into conversations that highlighted individuality and confidence.

“What an incredible series of events to officially launch the 501 Curve in South Africa. Surrounded by some of the coolest, most authentic, and most dynamic people,” Mbatha shared excitedly.

The partnership carries personal meaning for her. Reflecting on her journey, she revealed, “I began as a Levi’s brand promoter during my university days. Today, as the returning face of the Levi’s Curvy campaign, I’m embodying a full-circle moment.”

With Women’s Month as the backdrop, Mbatha encouraged women to take pride in their natural bodies and identities.

“This makes sense for our women who want to celebrate their curves,” she said. She also admitted that her public life often comes with pressure.

“I always have eyes on me, and that comes with pressure. I am still a woman at the end of the day. And I want other women not to feel pressure into having a certain body type.”

Beyond her work with Levi’s, Mbatha is widely respected for her humanitarian efforts.

She serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and runs the Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation, which has been empowering youth and women through entrepreneurship and grants since 2015.

A qualified accountant from the University of Cape Town, Mbatha continues to balance her professional success with her advocacy for self-love and social impact.
