Sangoma Mpho Wa Badimo called out for scamming clients

Big Brother Mzansi winner and celebrity sangoma Mpho Wa Badimo is facing backlash after being accused of defrauding her followers.

The reality TV star allegedly collected money from clients for a grieving seminar scheduled earlier this year but failed to deliver on the promise or refund her supporters.

An aggrieved client came forward on social media, claiming to have paid R950 for the event advertised in April 2025.

According to the complainant, Mpho initially postponed the seminar to 5 May, citing organisational issues.

“A few days before the event, she posts in the group that she’ll be postponing to the 5th of May because her team is pulling out and everything is just a mess and that she’ll be changing the venue too,” the client explained.

The rescheduled date never materialised, with Mpho reportedly cancelling again and telling supporters she needed to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

“Next thing, May comes and she cancels the event and says that she won’t be continuing with it because she needs to be admitted to the psychiatric hospital. She said she will refund us all our money,” the client added.

Months later, the alleged victims say they are still out of pocket, accusing the healer of going silent and ignoring their calls.

The story has since gone viral after being shared by the gossip page The Popcorn Room, with South Africans divided in their reactions.

While some criticised Mpho, others shamed the victims for being too trusting.
