South Africans mock pastors’ claims that Jesus would return on 23 September

SA pastors spark online frenzy with bold claims about Jesus returning in September

Two South African pastors have set tongues wagging after predicting that Jesus Christ would return on 23 or 24 September 2025.

Preachers Joshua Mhlakela and Danie Botha both claimed that divine revelations informed them of the exact date of the rapture, sparking a mix of ridicule and disbelief across social media.

Speaking on Centtwinz TV’s YouTube channel, Mhlakela described a vision in which he saw Jesus on his throne and heard Him confirm the date of the rapture.

He linked the prophecy to the Jewish Feast of Trumpets, saying it would precede Judgment Day.

Meanwhile, singer-turned-preacher Danie Botha made a similar claim on his own platform, insisting the holy spirit had revealed the date to him.

Botha recalled switching on his television and seeing golden letters appear, reading: “Flight 923. You must be ready to depart.”

The claims quickly went viral, with netizens poking fun at the prophecies.

One X user joked, “This rapture tomorrow: is it by time zone or does everybody go at once?”

Another quipped, “Do we need to bring our backpacks for the rapture tomorrow?”

Others sarcastically wished for the rapture to bring universal healthcare and equal rights.
