Scotts Maphuma jokes about nationality rumours after Tebogo Mashego’s claims
Amapiano sensation Scotts Maphuma has brushed off rumours surrounding his nationality with humour after finding himself at the center of social media chatter.
The speculation began when controversial artist Tebogo Mashego alleged that Maphuma was not South African.
A clip shared by @PianoConnectSA on 24 September 2025 showed the Amapiano star addressing the claims in his own light-hearted way.
In the video, Maphuma quipped that if people insist he isn’t from South Africa, then he must be from another planet entirely.
“Since I’m not from South Africa, I guess I’m from Mars,” he joked, before adding that perhaps he might even be “an AI person.”
His playful response quickly made rounds online, sparking mixed reactions from fans.
Some laughed off his remarks, while others weighed in on Mashego’s ongoing rants.
