“I feel sorry for Black Coffee” – Penuel Mlotshwa reacts following divorce from Enhle Mbali

Penuel weighs in on Enhle Mbali and Black Coffee’s divorce

Podcaster and social commentator Penuel Mlotshwa, popularly known as The Black Pen reacts to Enhle Mbali’s legal divorce from Black Coffee.

The actress recently confirmed that she is legally divorced, a revelation that sparked massive reactions across social media.

While many congratulated her on officially closing that chapter of her life, others weighed in with their opinions, including the podcaster.

Sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), Penuel expressed sympathy for DJ Black Coffee, saying the case serves as a lesson to those planning to get married.

He wrote: “I feel sorry for Black Coffee, but let this be a lesson to everyone who wants to get married. Coffee paid amalobolo, which the court interpreted as the official start date of their customary marriage.”

Penuel went on to explain that the court invalidated the couple’s prenuptial agreement, ruling that Enhle had been misled and lacked proper legal advice.

As a result, their marriage was recognized as a customary union, meaning they were automatically married in community of property, and Enhle is entitled to spousal maintenance.

He added: “As soon as you pay even R100 in ilobolo, the courts deem you married customarily and automatically in community of property. The fact that courts can also override pre-nups means that those with them are no longer automatically protected.”

Penuel concluded his post with a lighthearted remark to men, writing, “Nisenjeni basically. Shadani kodwa bafwethu… angeke sinidlele umona,” roughly meaning, “Be careful, my brothers… we can’t envy you.”
