Ntsiki Mazwai fires back after DJ Euphonik demands public apology over past rape claims

Outspoken poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai has clapped back at DJ Euphonik after he publicly called for her to issue a formal apology for comments she made about him years ago.

Euphonik, whose real name is Themba Nkosi, recently told Gagasi FM that he still expects an apology from Ntsiki following a 2022 High Court ruling that barred her from making any statements about him online.

The order came after she allegedly referred to him as a “rapist” on social media in 2020.

Speaking in the interview, Euphonik said he had given Ntsiki multiple chances to apologize and move on, but she has refused.

“We’ve asked her many times to apologise. She’s lost three or four cases with us. She just doesn’t want to apologise,” he said.

“All I said was, ‘Ntsiki, if you apologise on the same platforms where you said what you said and leave it there for 30 days, then we can forget about everything.’”

He added that failing to apologise could lead to serious financial consequences for her.

“It’s not a case of me trying to be brutal and malicious. Just apologise — and if you don’t, I’ll take it the whole nine yards. By the time I’m done, she won’t be allowed to have one bank account,” he said.

Ntsiki didn’t take the comments lightly and wasted no time responding on social media.

She accused Euphonik of lying and twisting the narrative.

“Don’t lie. Stop making up stories to suit your broken masculinity, buti. I’m not your plaything,” she wrote. “I have f***en been paying, idiot. And he also admitted I had started paying.”

She went on to clarify that she had already complied with the court order and was fulfilling her financial obligations, but that an apology was never part of the judgment.

“It’s not my responsibility to apologise for something I didn’t do. The judge didn’t order that. I am paying the debt as instructed. So what is the problem?” Ntsiki said.
