Shauwn Mkhize loses more assets as SARS auction draws shockingly low bids
Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize is facing yet another financial blow as the South African Revenue Service continues auctioning her belongings to recover outstanding tax debt.
Following the R5.6 million raised in October, a fresh round of auctions took place between 18 and 19 November 2025 — and this time, even more of her household items and luxury goods were put up for sale.
Online bidding opened on 14 November, with everything from high-end electronics to everyday appliances listed. Buyers were offered a wide range of items, including multiple flat-screen TVs, stylish furniture, decorative pieces, and musical instruments.
According to News24, some bids came in shockingly low, with one of the TVs receiving a bid of R0 by Wednesday afternoon.
Despite the wide range of bids, a few items still drew attention. An 85-inch Samsung TV secured a top bid of R9,800, while a 70-inch LG TV went up to R7,100.
Larger screens from brands like LG, Hisense and Samsung also formed part of the lot, though they didn’t fetch particularly high amounts.
Two Clavitech electric grand pianos also stood out, especially the damaged black one that still managed to attract a R42,600 bid.
Its white counterpart, which was in working condition, reached R49,600. A full studio setup, complete with a keyboard, speakers, subwoofers and a mixer, also went under the hammer, likely equipment used by her son, Andile Mpisane.
Smaller entertainment items, like a bazooka Bluetooth speaker and illuminated ice buckets, were also part of the auction.
Other household pieces sold for surprisingly small amounts. A DStv Explora decoder went for R20, while simple appliances like a heater and a toaster fetched R50 each.
Even mirror-finished tables and cabinets ranged anywhere from R0 for damaged pieces to R2,500 for items in better condition.
The auctions mark yet another chapter in SARS’ ongoing efforts to recover millions reportedly owed by the businesswoman and reality TV star, as more of her luxury lifestyle continues to be stripped away through public bidding.
