Ciza joins the march against gender-based violence

Ciza joins GBV march

South African singer Ciza has added his voice to the growing nationwide call for an end to gender-based violence, sharing a powerful clip of himself participating in a march against the crisis.

Dressed in all-black, the star walked alongside a large crowd, joining thousands of South Africans who took to the streets to demand urgent change.

In his post, Ciza explained why he felt compelled to show up, stressing that GBV has torn through families across the country for far too long.

“I’ve decided to join the march against gender-based violence because it has become a national crisis in South Africa. We have lost too many mothers, sisters, friends, and cousins,” he wrote.

Ciza went on to highlight the critical role men must play in dismantling the culture that enables abuse, calling for accountability within male communities.

“As a man, I stand with the millions of women affected, and I call on other men to step up, speak out, and hold each other accountable,” he added.

He ended his message with a heartfelt plea for healing and unity: “I pray for healing from the trauma GBV has caused and for a safer, brighter future for all South Africans. We’re in this together.”

Ciza’s participation comes as public figures, activists and ordinary citizens intensify efforts to confront the country’s alarming GBV statistics.

With marches held across major cities and social media timelines flooded with purple-themed solidarity posts, many South Africans are demanding that GBV be declared a national disaster.
