Major League DJz clash with Kenyan promoters over alleged no-show claims

Major League DJz have spoken out after three Kenyan promoters accused them of repeatedly failing to honour fully paid bookings.

The organisers, The Afters KE, 6AM Entertainment and The Human District Company, issued a joint statement on Monday, 24 November 2025, alleging that the duo had breached contracts on multiple occasions, costing them money and disappointing fans who were expecting to see the Amapiano stars perform.

According to the promoters, the twins had allegedly been booked for several shows, including The Afters KE African Music Festival scheduled for 12 and 13 December at Fort Jesus Museum, but did not show up each time.

They claimed the brothers had received full payment for every booking.

“Despite fulfilling all financial and logistical requirements on our part, the artists and the management have completely failed to honour their commitments, resulting in significant financial losses for our companies and immense disappointment for the Kenyan public,” the statement read.

The allegations sparked a heated exchange online after Major League DJz responded directly under the promoters’ post. The brothers dismissed the claims and insisted they had never signed an agreement to perform for the trio.

They suggested the promoters may have dealt with unauthorised intermediaries instead of reaching out to them or their management.

“We didn’t sign any contract with you,” they wrote.

“We have hundreds of promoters in Kenya who have been trying to book us, and we haven’t done the show because, mainly, we are looking to bring our own show first to Kenya and work with the right promoter, too.”

They went on to say that no payment had reached them, explaining that their bank had rejected the transaction.

The duo claimed the funds would be returned once the issue was sorted out. Their comments also revealed that they are planning to bring their own show to Kenya in the near future, independent of the promoters making the accusations.

Major League DJz now join a growing list of artists accused of missing scheduled performances, a trend that has previously involved stars such as King Monada, DJ Maphorisa, Young Stunna and Makhadzi.
