Cassper Nyovest’s attempt to brighten a young patient’s day has unexpectedly sparked backlash online.

A video shared on X shows the rapper visiting a hospitalised child, entering the ward with balloons and small gifts before posing for photos with the little one.

While many expected the heartwarming gesture to earn him praise, a large number of users reacted negatively, bringing up Cassper’s alleged absence during his own son Khutso’s hospital stay.

The criticism resurfaced claims made by his ex-partner, Thobeka Majozi, who previously alleged that Cassper was unfaithful and spending time with the woman who later became his wife while their son was in hospital battling cancer.

The resurfaced allegations coloured the public’s reaction to the new video, prompting heated discussions across social media.

One X user commented, “Sometimes we do things to compensate for lost opportunities… we all mess up, so we need to be gracious to one another.”

Another criticised the rapper more directly, writing, “Yet he couldn’t even be there for his own son when he needed him most.”

A third user added, “He missed an opportunity to be with his own son during that phase. We can do better as men.”
