Donald Trump blocks South Africa from 2026 G20, accuses government of ‘killing white people’

Donald Trump evicts South Africa from 2025 G20

Donald Trump confirmed that the United States did not attend the G20 summit in South Africa and will exclude the country from the 2026 G20, which will be hosted in Miami.

In a statement shared on X, Trump said the decision was due to what he described as “horrific human rights abuses endured by Afrikaners and other descendants of Dutch, French, and German settlers.”

In his post, Trump claimed that the South African government is “killing white people” and allowing farms to be taken from them.

He added that the U.S. chose not to attend the 2025 G20 summit in Johannesburg because South Africa “refused to acknowledge or address” these abuses.

Trump also criticised South Africa for not handing over the G20 presidency to a U.S. embassy representative during the summit’s closing ceremony.

He said this demonstrated that South Africa “is not a country worthy of membership anywhere” and announced that all payments and subsidies to the country would be stopped immediately.

The tweet has generated widespread attention and debate, highlighting ongoing tensions over Trump’s claims.

South African authorities have previously rejected similar accusations, saying there is no evidence of targeted or systematic attacks against white farmers or the broader white minority.
