Nandi Madida and Zakes Bantwini are celebrating a major milestone in their son Shaka’s young creative journey.
The couple shared a collaborative post honouring their son, who marked his 9th birthday with an achievement far beyond his years; his very first solo art exhibition.
In their heartfelt message, the proud parents revealed that Shaka has been dreaming of showcasing his art for a long time, quietly working on his craft behind the scenes.
Not only did he finally bring that dream to life, but he also made his first art sale on the same night, making the moment even more memorable.
Describing it as “a brave beginning” and “a milestone earned,” Nandi and Zakes praised their son for stepping confidently into an important chapter of his artistic journey at such a young age.
The couple also extended a warm thank-you to designer Thebe Magugu for creating a space where Shaka felt supported and inspired.
“Thank you Uncle @thebemagugu for offering him such an uplifting creative home, for believing in his work, and for sharing your beautiful space with so much generosity and support,” they wrote, adding that the entire Madida family is deeply grateful.
They concluded the post with a loving birthday message to their son, celebrating his talent, courage and creativity.
