Gugu Zuma-Ncube calls out media after her photo is used to identify the wrong person

Gugu Zuma-Ncube is demanding better from both the media and the public after discovering that her image was being circulated online to identify someone entirely different.
The TV producer and creative said she was stunned to see her photo attached to posts referring to another woman, prompting her to publicly correct the error.
In a firm Instagram post, she clarified the mix-up, writing, “My name is Gugulethu Zuma-Ncube, not Nkosazana Bonganini Zuma-Mncube. Not sure why my picture is being widely circulated for a completely different human being. But such is the state of journalism in this country. Would a fact check hurt anyone?”
Her message quickly sparked conversations about the growing issue of misinformation and careless reporting, especially in an era where a single photo can be shared thousands of times in minutes.
Many online users echoed her concerns, noting how misidentifying someone can damage their reputation or cause unnecessary confusion.
