Pearl Thusi set to release debut single with Ihhashi Elimhlophe

Pearl Thusi has fully stepped into the music industry
Pearl Thusi is charting new territory in her entertainment journey, this time stepping confidently into the world of music.
The media personality is gearing up to release her first-ever single, a collaboration with Maskandi icon Ihhashi Elimhlophe, marking yet another milestone in her expanding career.
Although many know Thusi as an actress, model, entrepreneur and TV star, she has been steadily building her name as a DJ.
Since making her debut at the Makhelwane Festival in Soweto in 2024, she has played more than 125 shows both locally and abroad, hitting major stages such as the Spotify Cannes event and the NBA Africa Finals in Kigali.
Her growth in music runs parallel to her achievements on screen.
Over the years, Thusi has featured in several international productions, including Quantico, where she portrayed Dayana Mampasi, and The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency as Patricia Kopong.
She headlined Netflix’s first African original series Queen Sono, delivered standout action sequences in Wu Assassins, and is currently leading Average Joe, a new Deon Cole project set to land on Paramount+.
Beyond her creative work, Thusi has also built an impressive business portfolio.
She launched the Black Pearl Collection haircare line with Afrobotanics, became MAC Cosmetics’ first African collaborator with two limited-edition collections, and is a co-owner of Black Rose Gin.
Her upcoming single signals her next chapter, blending Afro-house, Amapiano, Maskandi and deep tribal influences; a sound that mirrors her evolving musical identity.
A teaser of the track has already sparked reactions online, with one X user commenting, “Who the hell gave Pearl Thusi this hit??? WTF.” Thusi quickly set the record straight, replying, “I actually wrote it. But thanks.”
