South African rapper and reality TV star Leslie Mampe better known as Da L.E.S has shared heartbreaking details about the stroke he suffered in July 2024, revealing how grief and emotional pressure nearly cost him everything.

The award-winning musician, who appears on Love and Hip Hop SA, sat down with News24 for an emotional interview where he discussed losing his mobility, struggling to speak, and later turning to substances to numb the pain he carried.

A clip from the interview was circulated on X by user @RealSihleIV, sparking widespread reactions from fans who were shocked by the depth of his struggles.

Da L.E.S explained that the stroke stemmed from overwhelming stress, much of which he had kept hidden.

He spoke candidly about the unbearable grief of losing his father and close friends in a short period of time.

“It was definitely stress. I was hiding a lot of stress from everybody. My pops died, AKA obviously, Riky, Nathan. They all died in like 2 years,” he said.

The rapper previously hinted at the emotional toll in earlier posts and even revealed plans to relocate to the United States as part of his healing journey.
